They were laying on the couch just watching t.v. together when I noticed how similarly they were dressed.  So, I rushed to get the camera before anyone moved.  When I got back, they both decided to pretend they were sleeping.  I think they did a pretty good job of looking like they were asleep.  It is amazing Jaxon stayed still for so long.  But, I think in reality he was really sleepy.

Keith and Stacie were unable to come down for Christmas but were able to come down right after.  This is a picture of some of the gathering sitting on my mom’s front porch.  At this point, Pops had already left so, he’s not in the picture.  Ram, Danielle, Zane and myself are also not pictured.

Our White Christmas Wednesday, December 26, 2007

Well, we woke up Christmas morning to white outside.  However, it wasn’t snow but, fog.  Whoever was asking for a white Christmas might want to be a little bit more specific next time.  I am not complaining, though.  We had a great day!

Here are the kids opening their gifts from Santa Claus.  Zane got an ipod and Jaxon got Optimus Prime and an Imagenext pirate ship.  They both had a great Christmas.  It is going to be interesting in the coming weeks and months to see them try to play with all of their stuff.

Just stick a camera in front of this kid and he will do just about everything except give me a “normal” smile.

My Morning Commute Friday, December 21, 2007

For some weird reason, I was up and ready early today.  I know, it was a freak occurrence and probably won’t happen again anytime soon.  I figured since I was up and I was ready to go, I might as well go to work early.  It was a BRILLIANT plan.  As it happened, as soon as I got on the freeway, the traffic began to stop.  But, it’s okay, I was early and I had good music to listen to so, I was in a pretty patient frame of mind.  So, I get over the first little hill and what do I see rising up into the morning sky?  Smoke.  So, as I try to peer through the vehicle in front of me’s lightly tinted windows to see what the hell is going on, I see there is a car stopped in the middle of the freeway with smoke rising.  As I get closer, I notice the whole front of the car is engulfed in flames.  Naturally, like any sane person would do, I pulled out my almost-always-present camera and snapped some pictures.  Because I was being patient, I was in the correct lane to exit quickly and get back on the freeway still making it to work early but now with some pictures of a car on fire.  Really, can a day start any better than this?

OKAY!  My day got a little better.  I contacted the guy at caller.com and, they are using my picture of the burning car in their story.  Go check it out here http://caller.com/news/2007/dec/21/car-fire-spid/

Christmas Tree Splendor Wednesday, December 19, 2007

This is our bright and spunky Christmas tree.  We, of course, used rope lighting.  It doesn’t tangle like the other lights so, each year when we go to put up our tree, it is easier than with those evil little lights.  And, it is bright.  We joke that our Christmas tree has the Hooberbloob Highway running through it.  For more pictures of our Christmas tree and our decorating practices, check out the pictures at our Flickr page.

Cool Kid

Sometimes, I look at my kids and realize how cool they really are.  And, I am not just saying that because I am their mom and am blinded by some kind of weird parental haze that obstructs me from seeing how my kids really are like some people.  As further proof, here is a picture Allen took recently of Jaxon.  If this isn’t a cool kid, I don’t know what is.
