So, this is the film my brilliant and funny 12 year old entered in a local film contest. It was the first film he has ever done. He did pretty much everything by himself, except Allen did what little editing was needed and recorded the music. Yep. Everything else was all Zane. He didn’t win any awards but, there is always next year and the year after and the year after and the year after….
So, I discovered, by accident, that there is a program put on by the state of Texas to give all kids under the age of 18 free meals during the summer. Yep. In my area, the kids can get a snack and a lunch with no hassle and fuss at area schools, all they need to do, is show up at the correct times. You do not have to show proof of income or age. And, you don’t have to register or get tickets to participate. So, want to know if there is anything in your area of the state? Go to www.SummerFood.org. For some reason, it didn’t show anything when I searched for something within my city but, when I searched by county, it showed quite a few in my city. Weird but, true. I think this is a great thing for anyone with kids out there. And, something I should tell everyone about!
I so really want something to say. I searched through quotes and have been searching through old photographs in order to share something entertaining with you. But, I’ve got nothing. So, I will just ramble for a little bit and hope it all makes sense. Friday is my last day of work. Then, I will concentrate on being a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom. It is a new adventure for me that I am really looking forward to. Allen will be working a little more but, that is okay with me, and him. I have already told Zane the schooling aspect is going to be a little more structured starting next week. He never really knows what to expect from me when it comes to that. I really like being able to say, “This is what you need to know, I’ll quiz you at the end of the week.” I need to start homeschooling Jaxon a little more than I am right now. He is super smart and wants to do more than he is doing now. Allen’s band, Hobo, is playing Friday night at the House of Rock along with a bunch of other bands. I know it is going to be fun and am SO looking forward to it. Well, I guess that is all the ramblings I have for now. I will put more pictures and stuff on here when I get a chance.
Bored? Nothing to do? Well, every week, I go through the dictionary and pick out one word starting with every letter of the alphabet for Zane for the week. I discovered this really cool website (armoredpenguin.com). They let you make your own crossword puzzles or word search puzzles or scrambled word puzzles. They are awesome. If you want to try it out, click on the link below for this week’s crossword puzzle. I realize Zane already has his list of words but, he IS a kid. If you find it too difficult to solve, let me know and I will send you the list of words or you can click on their solve the puzzle button and they will give you the answers. Zane fast discovered how to cheat when the words were different lengths so, all of the words are 6 letter words. OH, and by the way, you have the option of solving it online or printing it out and doing it at your leisure. Like I said, a great site. Have fun!

Homeschooling is going okay. Thanks for asking. I taught Jaxon how to write his name. So, it is official now, we aren’t going to make him stupid. Zane has been breezing through everything we put in front of him, except the tests I have been making for him. I think I have a gift for hard tests. I imagine Zane thinks it is a curse, though. But, so far so good. At least, I think so and , really that is all that matters.
